Ok, so I've been wanting to try this place, so I went on a Thursday around 5pm. There was no one in the restaurant, which is not always a good thing, but I can say that the food is incredible (got their version of fried rice which had shrimp and a very sweet tasting chopped sausage), bok choy, and the crab chips. Everything was delicious. Where things kind of fell short was with the service and ambiance. The wait staff was kind of just standing around waiting to be called on (had to ask for napkins and call them over to order). It also is lacking in its presentation (I typically give a pass for mom and pop establishments, but this didn't really have that kind of feel). Food was bomb so I would definitely order from here again, but I wouldn't suggest dining in. It isn't worth the tip.

Food was really good! We ordered the sisig, lumpia, and a squid dish. It was flavorful and super delicious with the garlic rice. Service was good. The only thing is there isn't a bathroom at the restaurant but instead they share a bathroom with a restaurant across the street. Otherwise, food was memorable and staff were super nice.

Passed by this stall inside Urban Hawker and the Rambutan Salad caught my eye. It was really good. I love the everything Filipino it has in this salad - rambutan fruit, pineapple, greens, red onion and the crunch of cornicks. If you're not familiar, it's fried corn. Vinaigrette tasted like light soy. The Tinapa (smoked fish) on rice is actually fried milkfish, bangus in Filipino. It goes very well with plain rice and pickled onions. In traditional Filipino cuisine, it would have been served with garlic fried rice and a vinegar sauce. Staff weren't Filipino but they were just as friendly. Glad to see Filipino cuisine brought to New York City. Highly recommend this place. Have yet to try other dishes to check out its authenticity.

The sauce was packed with flavor. Largely soy sauce with a background of lime. Different from my usual. I enjoyed it. Chicken was also tender and juicy and fell off the bone. The boiled egg was old though.

On a chilly Sunday afternoon, my partner and I visited a tiny Filipino restaurant called Tradisyon. The restaurant serves some of the most delicious dishes that your family members would cook for you back home. The menu was simple and easy to navigate. We ordered the lumpia chicken (crispy spring rolls) to share, and I chose the pork Tocino with garlic fried rice and a sunny-side-up egg while my partner went for the squid adobo. Unfortunately, my partner found the squid adobo too exotic for his Americanized taste buds. The restaurant did not serve any alcoholic beverages during our visit. Despite the lack of a toilet, the food and service at Tradisyon are excellent. The portions are big and worth the money. Although I may not return only because of the absence of a toilet, I would highly recommend this restaurant to those who love Filipino cuisine.

Tradison My son wanted Filipino food while I was in NY visiting him. I've never eaten Filipino food so I went straight to Yelp and once again another success. Located in Hells Kitchen on 52nd & 9th, this unassuming place with only 6 tables is very good. The ambience is relaxed, cozy and a bit eclectic with a really good vibe Food was simply delicious. I had the Squid Adobo. Squid cooked in ink over rice. It was flavorful and the hot chili oil requested gave it that extra pop. The Beef Bulalo is a soup with Braised Short Short ribs. Beef Broth.Corn. Bokchoy. Eggplant. Tomatoes. The broth was nice and not too salty. Plenty of braised beef inside too. If you're in the area and looking for something different, try this, you wont be sorry.
